My Journal

November 1 (Tuesday)

First day of NaNo!  I was freaking at first, because this being the Ninth Week of school, it’s the end of the first quarter, so I’ve got all these reports to send in.  And I do math with my brother, and it usually takes us forever, and he was running late today, so I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to do all the stuff I wanted to.  But I was able to start around 3:15 and I ended at 5:20.

So I disconnected my Internet, my power cord, and went into my room.  I set it on my desk, put in my headphones and played some music to block out the noise, and got started.  It was such a pain in the butt (literally), but I haven’t been so happy in months!  2, 118 words!  I took it in thirty minute intervals, breaking between each one, stretching, getting more water, and writing how many words I had left on the white board.  I thought I couldn’t write this battle scene.  Now I know I was wrong!  And it was such an exciting and exhilarating ride!  I was really guessing.  I didn’t plan much at all.  I knew somethings that I wanted to happen, but, as again Mr. Founder says, just go in there and write!  It’ll come to you.  Improvise.  Play it by ear.  Make it up as you go along.  Let the characters take the reigns and just go with the flow.  Go where the wind takes you.  So on, so forth, etc..  I will need to make some changes, but it actually went wonderfully well.  Can’t wait to do it tomorrow!
